Hidden Treasures of the National Trust returns to BBC2 for a second series on 10 May and we're excited that it features two of our properties from Bucks, Berks and Ox. Reflecting the national scale and importance of the Trust’s many properties and the passionate staff and volunteers who help care for them, the series reveals new and compelling stories about the work going on behind the scenes to conserve these incredible properties and objects for us all.
Monthly village open days restart at Coleshill on 12 April and then every second Sunday of each month until August. Explore the replica WWII bunker and the 18th century watermill. View an exhibition about the creativity inspired by the Coleshill estate and see fragments salvaged from Coleshill House after it was lost to fire in 1952. You can also join a guided tour of the former farm buildings and discover more about the craftspeople keeping heritage and rural skills alive today.
There are lots of guided walks to join in April across our counties. Head to Stowe Gardens for a wildflower walk to be shown the best places for cornflowers, fritillaries, orchids and cowslips. Or join their monthly dog walk on the third Wednesday of the month. At Basildon Park there are guided woodland walks with a volunteer showing you the best places for bluebells, or join a gratitude woodland walk at Greys Court.
